WHO WE ARE
Abberley WI is a friendly, active, mixed-age group of ladies. With over 50 members we are thriving, and always looking for more to join us.

WHAT WE LOVE
At Abberley we have an excellent triple-Presidency leading our committee (we’re very forward thinking!) who ensure our meetings, extra-curricular activities and popular sub-groups have lots to offer. We welcome a variety of interesting speakers to our monthly meetings, and hold some great social evenings with games, quizzes and food tastings. We also take an active part in local village life. Our craft group made a beautiful poppy display for the church lychgate, and makes items for charity appeals. Our book group enjoys discussing a different book each month over a glass of something exciting! The Abberley Bridge Belles play weekly over coffee in a local pub, while our walking group members love exploring our beautiful Worcestershire countryside, come rain, hail or (preferably) shine. We usually plan a garden visit each year plus a couple trips out, such as exploring the Medieval Library at Worcester Cathedral, Stourbridge Glass and Hartlebury Castle. Every summer we organise an outdoor garden party. We then round off the year with a festive Christmas meal… usually with some form of entertainment from the committee! We enjoy entering the WI county craft competition and county quiz, and socialising with other WIs when possible. Abberley WI also chooses to support a charity each year, recently raising more than £1k for West Mercia Women’s Aid.
